How to Run Meta Ads That Actually Convert in 2025

Meta advertising is no longer the same. Brands need updated strategies to reach the right audience and maximise ad performance.

What Has Changed

The biggest shift has been in audience targeting. Meta's algorithm has become significantly better at finding the right people without needing advertisers to over-specify their audiences. Broad targeting, which used to feel risky, now frequently outperforms narrow interest-based targeting.

Creative has also become the primary targeting signal. Meta uses the content of your ad to determine who sees it. If your ad speaks directly to a specific type of person, the algorithm finds those people. This means your creative work and copywriting are now doing more targeting work than your audience settings.

Campaign Structure That Works Now

  • Use one campaign per objective. Do not mix awareness and conversion goals.

  • Run three to five ad variations per ad set to let Meta identify the strongest performer.

  • Use Advantage Plus audiences or broad targeting rather than stacking interest layers.

  • Prioritise video creatives, especially short-form under 30 seconds, for awareness.

  • Retargeting still matters, but your warm audience window should be shorter 14 days, not 180.

What to Measure

Focus on cost per result and return on ad spend above all other metrics. Reach and impressions tell you how many people saw your ad. Cost per result tells you how efficiently you are converting that attention into action.

Review campaigns every three days in the early stages, then weekly once optimisation has stabilised. Avoid making changes too frequently the algorithm needs time to learn and optimise delivery.
